LORI RUTTEN

Having raised money, operated, and exited from multiple enterprises as owner, Lori Rutten brings extensive real-life business experience to her practice as a business and regulatory attorney.

Prior to college and law school, Lori opened, owned, and operated multiple restaurants and bars in the Greater Metro Phoenix Area, leading to successful exits in 2019. During her tenure as an entrepreneur, she oversaw all “back of the house” management including all permitting, contracting, HR management, insurance and compensation issues, and oversight of all financial and tax preparation.

Lori’s previous experience in business ownership, and the eventual exits, gives her a valued perspective and insight as to what entrepreneurs need, their passion and drive to meet their goal(s), the support they may require as they navigate their business ownership, and their exit strategy.

A Sun Devil through and through, she is a graduate of the Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree from ASU in public policy service and public policy with an emphasis on law and policy, as well as a certificate in leadership and ethics.

Lori skillfully guides clients in matters involving cannabis law, commercial law, and corporate transactions. A member of the Texas and Arizona State Bars, she lives in Austin and has two children–one out of the nest and one on her way!
