Micah Heppermann

With over 15 years of experience in regulatory compliance, quality assurance and control, chemicals management, and logistics, Micah Heppermann is an expert when it comes to process and systems management in heavily regulated industries. His extensive knowledge of regulatory and certification requirements including OSHA, FIFRA, RCRA, CAA, CWA, ISO, and Kosher makes him a central source for any enterprise seeking to compete and survive in industries with strict regulatory requirements.

Previously, Micah worked for the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) in their Division of Cannabis Regulation as a Compliance Officer. He was responsible for issuing medical marijuana facility licenses and certifications, seed-to-sale tracking audit and training, education, inspections, regulatory compliance monitoring, investigations, and violation issuance and resolution. He was designated as DHSS’ subject matter expert on the state seed-to-sale inventory tracking system (METRC) and in coordinating with other state agencies on health and safety concerns within the industry.

Before his stint at DHSS, Micah was either manager or lead supervisor of quality assurance and control, and environmental safety and health for large-scale, multi-state, and multi-site commercial enterprises. These roles involved chief responsibility for all aspects of health, safety, environmental, and security concerns for sophisticated companies with often hundreds and/or thousands of employees.

During his career, Micah has successfully and repeatedly led efforts for various companies to build their SOPs, policies, and direct implementation to achieve ISO certifications and AS9120 (aerospace) standards and recertifications.

The breadth and scope of his experiences include time spent in global chemical management services, product distribution, logistics/warehousing, and hazardous communications services for the Department of Defense, aerospace, automotive, and food and beverage industries.

Holding a B.S. Fire Management/Business Administration degree from Lindenwood University (Summa Cum Laude), Micah has dedicated his career to constantly training for and becoming an expert in all forms of emerging quality assurance/environmental science certifications and related training.

As with his professional life, Micah enjoys learning and experiencing new things in his personal time. He has tried his hand at organic gardening, brewing beer, making herbal tinctures, computer hardware and coding projects, latch-hook, cross-stitch, and woodworking. He is a registered officiant who has performed numerous weddings and enjoys competitive computer gaming, birdwatching, and working around the house. When Micah is not engaging in one of his many hobbies, he is found spending quality time with his wife, pets, family, and friends.
